Indeed there are 7000 winemakers referenced in Loire! Quincy was named first A.O.C in the centre Loire on the 6 August 1936. Since then, many appellations were created, and there are now 76 of them in the region! And it is the first world producer of white wines. Indeed there are 12 bottles from Loire Valley sold each second. For Red Wines, the main grape varieties are Cabernet Franc, Gamey, and Pinot Noir. For white wines the main grape varieties are Sauvignon, Chenin, Chardonnay, and Melon de Bourgogne.
